Re: Puncture Repairs

Last puncture I had was in 1997, again a nearly new tyre, that time on a YZF750.

It's right in the middle of the tyre, looks like a 3mm thick nail in it.

Puncture Repairs

What are people's thoughts on getting motorcycle tyres repaired when they have a puncture, my 300 mile old £250 rear Dunlop has a small nail in it, it looses about 1psi an hour, all the local main dealers say they don't repair punctures, I suspect one of the back street places will, if not I'll try ...

... the big SUVs everyone loves as well. Actually - that's another point - vehicles are getting a lot heavier generally, which means they cause more damage faster. IE, once a road surface starts to deteriorate, the greater mass of the average vehicle causes the damage to get worse quicker. And susp...

Re: State of the roads

NRSWA was a waste of time and didn't work from day 1, I worked for BT at the time, a lot of my job involved planning digging up roads, NRSWA pretty much let utilities off doing proper road repairs and made it the responsibility of the councils.

Re: State of the roads

It's the whole country, everywhere the roads are shit, even most motorways, the only bit of road I've been on that felt reasonable was the M6 toll road.

But it's not a central government issue, councils look after roads and they haven't been doing their jobs, bunch of work shy lazy twats.

A bit of shielded cat 6 cable will work better than any wireless solution, if that's not possible, tether off a 4G phone.

Different people have different tastes, I think it looks minging, but it could be a good bike, I don't know as I haven't ridden one, and I'm not going to test ride a bike I don't want to buy.

Re: Car thread - which one?

Worrabout this? My lad has been having a look and he's not so keen on the Porker or the F355, but he is very keen on an Aston, he found this earlier when we were discussing it and I think it's lovely, same sort of price range as a Porsche 930 although it's probably going to depreciate like a fallin...

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!

The new back tyre is good, the bike is stable at over 140mph, I had a little race with a noisy Porsche today, he bottled it at 141.

So today I think I've been the fastest at I've ever been on an unfaired bike, 145ish, the bike would happily have gone faster.
